At first glance you are probably thinking that there is no way that failure is a character.  Well hold on to your hat, I want to share with you how having failures can be character building in your life.

I like the way Winston Churchill puts it in this quote, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts."  I have been in the process of training a few gals at my office for the past few months and they are devastated when they mess up.  My best advise to them, "Welcome those mistakes...because it is through those mistakes that you learn."  I assure them that it is not the end of the world when you make a mistake...most are fixable.  I also tell them the reason I know this...I have made most every mistake that can be made at this office and didn't make the same mistake twice (maybe a time or two I did).

It is such an important character to realize in your life...as you fail, learn and keep going to your end goal.  The most damaging thing that can happen in your life is to fail and because of pride, you give up on your dream or you cover up your mistake.  When you admit you are not perfect, take responsibility for your mess-ups, and do what it takes to learn and move on...you will be on the road to success and not the road to failure.

The ultimate way to learn from your failures is to do the right things in God's eyes.  Be someone that follows the way the Lord leads.  Psalms 37: 23-24 explains what I'm trying to say, "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand."  Whew!  That is powerful!  When you fail (or fall) - you are NOT cast down...and why is this?  Because the Lord helps you!
